Want to help your students avoid the summer ‘brain drain?’ Looking for ways to provide your students with meaningful and interesting summer assignments? Hoping to offer students additional educational support this summer to help them make up for lost instructional time this school year? This course will provide you with countless ideas for designing summer assignments and activities that will produce significant and lasting educational results. Lessons will focus on the following concepts: how to use technology in your summer assignments; summer enrichment ideas; remediation opportunities for students; ideas for supporting the educational needs for students in this new environment of social distancing, and creative ways to ensure that your students come back to school next year prepared to learn and thrive.

How will this course help educators to meet the Next Generation and Common Core Standards?

Rigor and relevance- these are two terms frequently used to describe the Common Core standards. This course will help you to create meaningful and engaging activities for your students that will keep their skills sharp over the summer. With the CCSS in mind, you will design activities, games, and lessons that students will enjoy completing at home in the backyard or on their computer.
