Intergenerational learning has tremendous benefits. For students, it can provide them with opportunities to learn valuable
life lessons, boost academic skills, increase interpersonal relationships, and other improve in other wellness-related areas.
For schools and communities, intergenerational learning programs can create meaningful partnerships for all who
participate that have far-reaching effects on the overall school environment, home life, and local communities.
In this course, you will build an intergenerational learning program for your classroom or school community that results in
positive academic, social-emotional, wellness-related, and cultural benefits for all who participate. Topics covered
include: benefits of intergenerational learning; research work in schools and communities; academic, social-emotional,
wellness-related, and cultural benefits of intergenerational learning programs; tips on how to create an effective
intergenerational learning program; how to measure the effects on students and communities from intergenerational
learning; activities and lessons for intergenerational learning programs; and how to share your intergenerational learning
program with others in your community.

This course is appropriate for educators in all content areas in grades PreK to 12.
