This course will help all educators satisfy the new K-12 NY State Mental Health mandate. Have you ever  read a story and at the end they can’t recall what they read? Been introduced to someone and moments later can’t recall their name?  Where is our mind during moments like these, and how can bringing more awareness to ourselves lead to improvements in well being? Studies show the benefits of mindfulness include stress reduction, emotional balance, and greater focus. This course explores how mindfulness can promote these states, and how it can foster greater resilience, especially during challenging times appropriate for all educators k-12.

This course is relevant to all who work in schools with children ages in both regular and special education settings. This course has been designed for all school administrators, regular and special education teachers (grades K-12 and ages 5 to 21), special area teachers (gym, art, music, technology) school psychologists, school counselors, guidance counselors, social workers, speech and language therapists or speech pathologists and occupational or physical therapists.
