In the course, Ethics and You in the Classroom, students will research a variety of ethics research related to the classroom and personal life.  Participants will research the main principles of ethics in education and reflect on practices. Those taking the course will also learn about The Code of Ethics for Educators and how to model this for their students in the classroom.  The most common ethical issues in education will be researched and reflected upon.  Students will have the opportunity to explore how to teach ethical principles to others through free or low cost options, including games and activities.  Participants will also have the opportunity to work through ways to resolve ethical issues within the school environment. Student’s in the course will develop a “tips sheet” to keep handy when situations arise in the school building.  Individuals who take this class will be researching websites, articles, books, and videos.  Resources are provided; however students are able to utilize their own cited sources.  All participants will come out of the course with a variety of research and materials they can refer back to as needed.  Student’s can also share ideas and network with peers through the class forum.  A final presentation is designated to reflect on the course overall, including visuals and takeaways.  All participants taking this class will work closely with the instructor to reflect and research the online resources.  Google Meet availability is an option and feedback will be given for each assignment.
