So all of a sudden, this huge screen appears in your classroom. What is this thing?!? Actually, once you become acquainted with this object, you may come to like it…maybe even love it. This course will help you become more familiar with SMART Boards or Promethean Boards. You will choose which path to follow according to which interactive board you use. This course will offer you a variety of ideas on how to use them in your classroom. You will create engaging activities while focusing on the different learning styles and needs of your students. You will learn how to make the best use of this interactive device that will offer your students a chance to learn both independently and collaboratively. Activities will vary from games, to assessments, to lessons…and the list goes on! Boring lectures will no longer be in existence with the plethora of new captivating activities you discover. You will be asked to turn in assignments which include lesson plans, power point presentations and reflective essays. NYS and Common Core Learning Standards are addressed. This course is appropriate for all educators including Guidance Counselors, Psychologists, ELA, Math, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Science, The Arts, Physical and Special Education, OT and PT professionals, N-12.
